So, Emily and Anthony are going to use a binding spell to trap Mephy. (I gave him a nickname.) I want to kind of create the ritual myself, but I was wondering if any of you have opinions about what might invovled/required for the spell. Any suggestions or opinions?

Hey, Rhia! All I can think of that might be crucial is some sort of pentacle. Candles (white, black, red, or all three) and feathers of some sort might help.
Another thing might be an effigy. A lot of times in spells they have little figures that stand for something else (voodoo dolls/poppets). You could have a poppet in chains in the middle of the pentacle with a slip of paper labeled Mephistopheles inside it.
The fun thing about spells is that you can get as funky as you want and no one can tell you otherwise ;D

PS- I am SO glad you have a nickname for Mephistopheles, too- my mom thought I was going crazy when I started referring to the infamous demon as 'Tophy' xD

I like the effigy idea! Thanks Anne! I just wanted some help brainstorming ideas so I could come up with something more original than blood. I never thought of a doll before. I'm getting an idea now.  He would be so mad if he knew were giving him cutesy nicknames! XD |

Hmm... and chanting really raises energy in such rituals (so I've heard, haha). You could come up with one. I'm Wiccan (which is not about devil/demon worship, rather reverence for nature) but we have chants to raise energy, and one I know is simply: Eko, eko Azarel! Eko, eko Shadiel! Eko, eko Hecate! Eko, eko Cernunnos! The names are gods, and you just repeat it to raise energy for spell workings/circles. You could come up with something like that-vowels and hard consonants are good Looking forward to reading about our dear Mephy! |
